About Us

Two smiling men enjoying a gathering at Elks Lodge.

The Dowagiac Elks Lodge on Riverside Drive has been a cornerstone of Cass County life for generations. Walk through the doors and you'll find something increasingly rare: a place where locals actually know each other's names. Rated 4.7 out of 5 by members and guests, this lodge earns that reputation the old-fashioned way, through consistent staff, a welcoming atmosphere, and a kitchen that turns out food worth talking about.

The lodge hosts everything from cancer support gatherings like the Breast Friends group to class reunions and community fundraisers. That range tells you something important about the space: it bends to fit the moment, whether that's a solemn cause worth celebrating or a Friday night where you just need a cold drink and good company.

Beyond the social hall, members enjoy access to a golf course right on the grounds, a quieter-than-average layout that's ideal for working on your game without the weekend-warrior crowds. The fairways are part of what makes Elks Lodge Dowagiac feel like its own little world tucked along the river.

What We Offer

The lodge operates as a full-service community hub with a dining room, banquet facilities, a members' bar, and an on-site golf course. Private event rentals accommodate reunions, fundraisers, memorial gatherings, and milestone celebrations. The kitchen handles group meals in-house, and the staff consistently draws praise for their attentiveness and warmth.

Golf at the lodge is a low-key, uncrowded experience suited to beginners learning the game or seasoned players who prefer a relaxed round over a packed public course. Elks membership itself unlocks a national network of charitable programs, youth scholarships, veterans' support initiatives, and local community grants, all backed by the B.P.O. Elks of the USA.

The lodge also functions as a meeting space for civic and charitable organizations in the Dowagiac area, making it one of the more versatile gathering spots in Cass County.

“Not very busy which is good if you are trying to teach someone. Fairways need to be cut, a few greens were a little bumpy.”

"This place is heaven on Earth, I come every Friday, to enjoy the best place on dry land. The salad bar is great, actually everything about this place is grand! The people are amazing, the food is amazing, they have all you can eat fish, drinks, and their desserts are dynamite too! Most of all these people of the Elks 889, are Angels that help the community, come in and see what they do! I love the grilled chicken and the grilled fish and I have to get them every time.. I favorite drink is the cranberry coction they call Elk's 889! I really LOVE THIS PLACE! #whitsdom"

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
